New to the sub-forum

It completely depends on what Yangdu happens to have in stock. If she has what you seek, 3 days is reasonable.
If she has to wait for a shipment or special order one it's difficult to determine and only she would have a remotely accurate answer.

With the situation in Nepal and the ever changing work force it's been very challenging for her.

I wish you good luck on your quest. The Sirupati is a great knife.

What is the typical wait time on a particular Khukri? a Sirupati perhaps.

Welcome to the subforum. If this is your first HI blade, I can almost guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised.

I recommend that you send Yangdu an email -- HIMIMP@aol.com -- explain what type of blade or model most interests you, and ask what is available. There are several models with functional characteristics similar to the Sirupati, and only Yangdu knows what might be on hand at any given time. Apart from model type, there is length and weight to consider. (HI always specifies overall length, not blade length. In my opinion, weight is at least as important as length, and it depends on your physical size/strength/fitness and what type of work you expect to do with the blade.)

If you live in the continental U.S., shipping time is usually 2-3 days (USPS Priority Mail). Yangdu handles the emails and shipments herself, and might not be available on weekends. Apart from that, her shipments are extremely fast, almost magically fast some might say.

Note: If you've been getting your information from the HI web site online store, you should be aware that only the most common models and sizes are listed there. There are many other models, and every model comes in a variety of sizes and weights, not just the one or two options listed at the HI online store. If you follow this subforum for a while (or read through Yangdu's posting for the past year), you will get a more complete idea about what might be available. Also, you will see Yangdu's DOTDs (Deals of the Day), which are posted here, at prices that are impossible to find anywhere else.

Welcome 245tri..! Im in Texas and its almost always two days depending on holidays etc. Siru is a great knife! They are on the lighter side or on the fighter end of the knife spectrum compared to the choppers like the Ang Khola but they can be great for clearing brush and lighter stuff. I have several sizes and for the reach the 25" is great as well as the 21" but for packing the 18" on down is great just depends on your application. When you get down to twelve inches there aint much for chopping due to lack of weight but it is great for carving and excellent for martial arts and protection etc. Good luck! Please report back when you get something. btw they are addicting and the HI Khukri virus is easier to catch than ebola so watch out:thumbup:
