Hi all, new to Swamp Rat knifes, just picked up a Chopweiler from Jeepnut with a Steelnut (lots of nuts here! :D) kydex sheath. I'll probably attach that one to my pack, but would like to set one up like texastonydobbs here:

Is this the Spec Ops brand Combat Master? http://www.specopsbrand.com/Categories.asp?CatID=6 I think I saw it called the 'Survival Sheath', but don't see that anywhere on their website.

Or maybe it is Survival Sheaths System:

I'm . Thanks for helping!

first off, welcome to the world of swamp rats! the chopweiler is a GREAT knife.

that sheath you linked to first is indeed the spec ops survival sheath, but it is no longer in production (iirc). the spec ops combat master is a great sheath, and it is what my chopweiler rides in. some people have said they needed to do minor mods (heat and reform) to the insert to get their knives to fit right, but mine worked straight off the shelf.

i can't speak on the third link... no experience there.

i hope that helps!

welcome to the best production knives on the planet! Nothing like SRKW (except Busse :) )

You have a wonderful piece of SR101 there with the CW. Fantastic knife.

Survival sheath systems are made by Robert. he makes great sheaths. but you pay for them.

the Spec Ops sheaths work fine. I have 2 for my CW, Mini Mojo, and SY S6. Cheap and they work fine.

OK, I see now, the Survival Sheath Systems website lists the one they have as made by Spec Ops, so they are one and the same.

Thanks for the welcome, guys! 15 minutes and 3 responses, think I'll like it here. :D

That looks nice, TTD, from what I can see. Didn't you have another thread on this somewhere? Who is the maker?

Yes , W&SS is where the thread is located...Mike Billman ,he made me one for my Dumpster mutt as well....he also did one for my FBM inbound,I am giddy waiting for my items !! comes with a DMT sharpener on the back,Buck hartsook and the flint striker for the LMF steel and a photon LED light,para-cord ,ranger band....and left handed ..the FBM is right handed sheath but that is alright,I'll make do..

mapper66, Steelnut has been coming up with some killer add-ons for his Kydex sheaths. Reach out to him and talk to him about what you want. He may be able to make some changes for you that will cost less than getting another sheath.

I had plans to send that one back to him for a fire steel attachement and a drop leg attachement before realizing I had to thin out a few knives. Send him a PM!

Oh, and check your email! ChopWeiler is enroute as of yesterday. :) You should have it Monday I bet.

I could put a Dangler on it like this one...

Now see, you had to go and post that pic of the OD sheath (I really like it!) and I'm going to end up with 3 sheaths for 1 knife. :D I've got a foliage green pack and I like to blend in as well as I can to that, especially around some of the more crowded trails I hike on. I'm going to have to think about just what I want this sheath to do, I like the drop leg attachment as it looks like I could wear that under a pack belt, but don't know that I'd be wearing the Chopweiler in that config anyway, probably attach it to or in the pack while hiking, then belt carry at camp. Still , but I'll get it figured out! Can you spec that drop leg attachment to the desired length or is it adjustable?
