So I have been collecting all types of knives for the past year or so and never really had any interest in any type of "tactical" tomahawks or anything.

Then for some reason 2 weeks ago I ordered a M48 hawk made by United Cutlery. The second I got it I couldn't believe how cool it was!

First thing I did with it? Opened a safe.

So far I love this thing, but now I want to try out some other ones!

I've been trying to find a video about the Ontario Ranger Series RD Hawk Axe but can't seem to find any anywhere!

Any thoughts of in the Ontario will be a nice second addition or what would you guys suggest for a hardcore one under $150?

Look through the threads on here. You'll get introduced to a couple makers. Customs aren't all that expensive, and they are a ton of fun.

Surprisingly many folks find the cold steel hawks to be of good quality as well with a little elbow grease.

Welcome to the forum and the hawk addiction.

I own the one without the spike. IMO, it's well worth the money. Yet, it is heavy and not for chopping wood. Unless, you want to mod the edge, even then, it's so short and heavy that I think you'll still be working pretty hard just to get through a small limb. A different type of hawk would be better for camping.
It's not a great fighting hawk, better than nothing, but it's too heavy and slow, IMO. The sheath isn't bad, but it's not a rapid deployment.
For a tough as nails, destroy a car, or wall, etc.. then the RD is great.
It has some con's...
There only a handle at the lowest part of the handle, you can't choke up.
It's an Ontario, so the handle will hurt your hand. Sand the micarta a bit, to even it up.

But I've thrown mine, many times, no damage. I've cut through a steel chair, no real damage (to the hawk). It is a strong and tough little hawk.
