I'm new to fixed traditional style knives. I've been looking at Bark River, Blackjack, Bob Dozier, and some others. I'm looking for a traditional hunter/bowie knife about 6" or smaller. I'd prefer a custom, but I'm open to anything. Please give me your recommendations!

Thanks.

All that you named are top quality knives. Just find one that really speaks to you & go for it. After you get one & use it give us your review.
Good Luck & have fun!

Bark River has some very nice stuff. You might check out www.shadowknives.com, where Eddie White produces some very nice, reasonably priced customs. They may not be quite the length you're looking for, but he's always worth a mention.

If you want a nice little 4.25"-er, check out this Queen #Q-92CSB. It's a killer deal on a D2 bladed knife, and it's the only Queen D2 knife I've gotten that was extremely sharp out of the box.

Any BRKT models, haven't had any experience with Blackjack, and of course Doziers are great (even those made by his shop under his supervision or so I've heard). Mike Stewart will back his knives to the end too.
