In the last ten years my knife collection has been focused on handmade knives from makers I had discovered at shows, and on the Internet. My first was a Barry Dawson, then a Dennis Cook, both fixed blades were carried for years. Next I met C.J. Deubel and started my custom folder collection, I now have many fine examples of his work. Others include: W.D. Pease, Don Cowles, Brian Tighe, J.R Johnson,
Hans Weinmuller, Suchat Jangtanong, Rainy Vallotton, Corrie Schoeman, joe Olson, Mel Pardue, Mike Zacherny, and Dennis Friedly.

For the last two years I have been working on my own designs. I have had the prototypes made by C.J. Deubel. So far there are two fixed blade, and five folder designs he has built for me.

I am in awe of the art of Damascus steel production, and am inspired by it to do the designs I do. My knives feature steel from: Robert Calcinore, Robert Eggerling, Chad Nicholes, Doug Ponzio, and Damasteel. I also use Moku- Ti, & Mokume from Chad Nicholes. My designs are not for sale at this time, but I do have hopes of some limited editions at some point.

I look forward to being a part of your group! I'm not sure why it took so long to find you, and make up my mind to come up with another password, and join you!

Hello neighbor!

Have you been to any of the gunshows with your wares? Dawson is there at the Crossroads, and some other independent gent that I don't know.

No I've not taken any of my own designs out to sell. I'm still testing prototypes, and finding my favorite materials.
I'm very fond of Damasteel for my stainless blades. I just used one of mine to pick thick finish off a flagstone deck before refinishing with no damage to the Damasteel blade.

Have you looked at AZ's own Steve Hostetler's knives? Of Parks, AZ

I've not yet met Steve Hostetler yet, but I just met a neighbor of his, and I do like what he makes. Mostly now I'm collecting folders, probably 8 to 1, in design I have 2 fixed blades & 5 folders compleat.
