So, what good is this Forum anyway if a newbie cannot get information on a knife or blade he or she owns? Every other collector forum I join, they are more than happy to share info even value. Yes, I just joined yesterday myself, tried to post and apparently it did not go through. Now I'm glad it didn't. I guess I'm off to a more resourceful & friendly site as well. Thank you very much for saving me time.

p.s. and yes, because THEY were helpful, kind & supplied me with more info than I needed, I was happy to contribute/donate/pay for their expertise, I guess maybe people that play with knives are just not trustworthy.

Hmmm. You must have come on here to get value info for a knife and did not first read the rules.

Aside from that assumption, have a great time on whatever other site you found

You are sure making some quick unfair assessments of the forum. There are good reasons why the rules are what they are. This is the largest knife forum on the internet full of many kind people that are very helpful. You can get plenty of info if you ask, you just can't ask the value if you aren't a paying member. Your first post seemed awfully dismissive and confrontational. I suggest you read the forum more and learn a little about the community here prior to posting any more. Or don't. It doesn't really matter in the long run. You do what makes you happy. The rest of us will enjoy the community.

I read the rules! I was not asking for value, Just Information. Do you not offer any help for something I cannot find elsewhere?

Ya seemed a little overly upset, I'm sure if it's all a misunderstanding posting this isn't gonna help, under what name did ya post your question and where did ya post it?

Under this name ya got 2 posts already, and both are on their thread so do you have multiple accounts?

Go away then I think I can speak for everyone and say that posts like this are simply unnecessary and disrespectful. If you need help just ask there are plenty of good people around here that will help if they can.

Not sure what happened or why your post did not take, but there is no way your post would have not taken if all you were doing was asking for information.

By the way, I moved this non knife subject to service and support. There is a list of rules at the stuck at the top of General. It really is not that hard and this is a forum filled with people who are more than willing to share their knowledge and information.

That should be pretty obvious just by looking around. BTW after 30+ years of being in the knife community and around 15 years here, my experience is that knife people are quite trustworthy. Not sure what you are basing your opinion on, but I think it is myopic to say the least.

The rules here are not random. They exist because of past experiences. If you don't like the rules, the "log out" link is in the top right hand corner of your browser window. We can't make everyone happy.

Hi Vintar -

Your original post in this thread was your first post (#1) - so it may be that there was a technical issue that kept your post from going through.

I can tell you that this community is made up of some of the finest human beings on the planet, and they also have a vast wealth of knowledge in knives and many other topics.

Try to post your question(s) again in a specific topic forum here at Bladeforums that you think is the right fit, and I am sure that the good folks here will do their best to help.

best regards -

I read his initial post and posted on it myself, predicting its removal. He asked for the value of his knife. Yes, technically that is information, but so are nuclear launch codes and we don't give those out to just anyone.

Thank you, but that was not my post.

Hi Vintar ... this forum is also new to me. There is a wealth here of information, skill, intelligence, compassion, and camaraderie ... and more importantly of the passion to share, explain, include and encourage new members. Hey, if you missed the first shot, think about taking a second chance. It is your gain.

I'm sorry you feel the way you do vintar. I might not have been around for 14 + years like some folks here, but I can say (based on my time here) that your opinion of this forum in its entirity is about as incorrect asI've ever seen. This community has had a lot and I mean of lot of people grace it halls. Some of the absolute best people you could ever want to meet congragate here. The sheer amount of compassion, kindness, helpfulness, and friendliness has been overwhelming in my 4 years. Peoplle we can friend and even family.

Getting riled up and upset because of some unknown issue and blanketing this entire place with your poorly thought out opinion is pretty hurtful and way off base. All are welcome here, but if you choose not to stay then best of luck to you elsewhere. I would also like to say that making prejudicial statements based on sweeping and baseless assumptions is not a good way to introduce yourself in any scenario, real world or internet. To each his own though.

Thank you RevDevil and to all, I deserve every bit of that. Yes my panties were in a wad, and I was wayy off base and that's no excuse to treat people or say the things I said. I'v spent the better part of the evening reading and looking around instead of leaving, and decided not to edit or delete my post but rather take my medicine like a man. I am truly very sorry for I was wrong, I hope you will accept my apologies and totally understand if you don't. I do believe in being a good human, today just wasn't my day.

Hey, welcome to the forums Vintar, great place, great people and the largest collective repository of knife knowledge any where.

I've been here since beginning watching this place evolve into what we have here today, the largest most informative venue for the knife collector/enthusiasts, enjoy it.
