New to traditionals

I never was in to traditional folders but last friday I saw a picture of a GEC #72 Clip point and loved it. I saw that there was 1 or 2 on (removed non Bladeforums dealer/vendor reference)but when I got back from a weekend trip there are no more. Then I start looking in other places with no luck. Does GEC produce a certain number of knives in certain shapes and handle materials?

Gotchya. Too bad I didn't discover them about 6 months ago :(. I may settle for the spear 72.
 
Do check forums to sell and trade forums. Now and then there's been #72 clips been sold.... Maybe someone is willing to trade #72 clip for #72 spear. Anything is possible as this is awesome forum and espeically forumites of traditional section are creme dela creme when it comes great people and personalities.
 
Thanks Rick. I am not familiar with places that sell traditionals. I think this is the beginning of a new collection

I know! I want an orange one. A while back I kept seeing all this stuff about GEC Bullnose in 01 and I paid no attention. Now that I see what GEC is and what the quality is I want one. I did see some on the exchange, but I think I am going to get a single blade scout to start. I am really digging the wood handles.
 
Uh-oh, I think you got 'the traditional bug', the desire to own every pattern that appeals to you.
It's happened to me and I'm sure others here.

Stay away from the Traditional of the Month (TOTM) threads, they lead to a lusting after the featured pattern and you'll end up with more than one :D (says the guy with multiple Peanuts - May TOTM, Stockman - June TOTM and two Barlow's - July TOTM, on the way)
 
Well what I was looking for, the Beaver Tail #72, or similar model, is sold out everywhere. I bought a single blade scout with the same blade shape as the BT to tide me over. I didn't want to miss out on something that I want, so I also got an orange bullnose.
