This is a custom knife that Tom Ferry made for me. I have been a complete trout bum for over 20 years and Tom and I had an idea for this over a beer at Josh Smith's hammer in this summer.
I am clearly weak at photography and lighting but trust me, this blade is really really excellent. All damscus with gold engraving the angler is on one side with the gold line looping and as you follow it up over the crest it ends with the trout hooked and jumping out of the damascus on the other side.

I believe ya. Knowing Toms work its has to be a real knockout. I cant remember any of his knives that were not sweet.

this is from the maker:

" The knife itself was created from two separate Damascus billets. The blade is a mosaic Damascus and the handle forged from a 320 layer random pattern. I specifically used a random pattern on the handle to create a flowing river type of effect in the steel. This is especially apparent with the fisherman who appears to be wading in the Damascus layers. The trout also appears to be leaping from the steel as the 24K gold line comes tight. The scroll work is also a combination of 24K gold inlay and bright steel engraving. Wrapping the gold line over the top of the spine and its engraving has really completed the overall effect and brought all of the engraving together. I hope you enjoy it. This was a cool project and I feel the end result is a real stunning piece and an exceptional presentation knife. Thanks again for such an exciting knife idea. "

Great knife but you really need to spend some money and get some good pictures taken, I spoke with Chuck from AKS and he told me about this knife.

Awesome Tom Ferry is one of my knife making favorite's.

That it is a stunningly beautiful piece, I have no doubt. Tom doesn't do it any other way. But if ever a knife were begging for a visit to Coop...

Congrats on the fine new piece.
