Just got a new Tormek that had a rough ride to get to me. Looking closely over it I noticed spots on the diamond stone that look shiny/uncoated. Is this something I should worry about?

Attaching a couple other pictures of the stone in case it helps. Looks like it got scuffed up on the plastic parts next to it in the box.

I'm new to both diamond stones and the tormek so I'd appreciate any advice on where to look for potential shipping damage or other defects. Was really excited but now just worried.

It's my first post here so I apologize if it's in the wrong place. Can take more pictures of needed. Thank you!

It's hard to tell from the photos, but I would guess that it won't effect the wheel's performance. What does it feel like to the touch?

Either way, if it concerns you I would definitely ask your reseller to replace it, and if they aren't accommodating, contact Tormek support. They are very good.

Your looking for protrusions ! ...

U might want to mount the wheel and run some scrap steel thru the wheel to help it settle ( wear ) cleanly .
A lot of diamond when new . is a little rough till used several times .

Hopefully will be buying a diamond wheel for my wet stone grinder this year .. Hmmmm , diamond goodness !

Also , a nice smooth stone would be nice as well .
