New toy coming

Just curious, which blade steels have been disappointing with your Benchmades? I’ve recently been wondering if my 940 with S90V is not holding an edge nearly as long as I would like.

Most of my EDC is s30v. They take an edge very easily, but don't hold it long. I only have one s90v custom mini barrage. A genemans knife I'll call it. Don't get used much. A little harder to sharpen, but doesn't hold an edge as good as my s30v???? I'm not sure why. Any way I thought I'd try a spyderco

Yeah, I’ve been wondering about my S90V and whether it’s performing like it’s supposed to….. I recently became a big Spyderco user/fan after getting a Spy Para 2 with M4 steel. Your’s with S45VN should be a really good option. I’ve also become a fan of CTS204P and CPM20CV. Haven’t tried Maxemet bc everyone says it’s incredibly difficult to sharpen and I’m just now getting decent at sharpening “mild” super steels.

Maxamet sharpens up just fine on diamond or CBN.

I'm a "soon to be Spydie-owner"
A dragonfly 2 is on the way, and a Para 3 is ready to be ordered...
But I'm not familiar with the steels that they use in their blades.
(D2 has VG-10, and the Para3 will have CPM SPY27)
What do they compare to?

Thank goodness there are some S90V- equipped knives coming my way...
