Hello,
A thanks to this forum. I searched some earlier threads and due to everyone's opinions and thoughts I picked up a new Seiko automatic Diver (skx173).
It's my first auto and I gotta tell you, it's pretty cool. The thought of not worrying about battery life is cool. There was a period over 2002 that I had to replace batteries in 3 watches (Swiss Army, Timex, and Wittenauer).
The watch feels well built and should last a long time (if everyone's comments were correct).
Also to complete the picture I have a Rhino strap on order for the watch which should arrive in a few days.
Thanks again to this forum (and the people who make it up)!
