Just got a nice little package in the mail today. Shredded that sucker and out comes the sweetest Steel Heart I have ever held! :eek: Its an A2 Birds Beak pommel Steel Heart 2. I now see what all the fuss is about and I am seriously hooked. One interesting thing is the black finish is textured! I had heard somewhere that there were some of the older models that had a different coat? Just hadda take a couple of pics, now I have a companion set with my SHBA, they do make a lovely pair dont they? :D

Sweet! That model was my first Busse.

A funny story about that knife: I was a couple of weeks off bypass surgery in 1994, and had just received my Steel Heart. I was sitting in the den in a recliner with my pajama shirt unbuttoned, and of course had a nasty, still scabby and red, wound down the middle of my chest. I was fondling the new Steel Heart. My daughter, then 13, came walking in with a neighborhood boy she had just met. As they walked through the den, he was really eyeballing me. Never cracking a smile, I said, "Son, you should have seen the loser!"

For some strange reason, he never came to visit again.
 
Thanks for the kind words guys, just a few more bribe gifts for the wife and its all mine! :D:D Oh and forgot, the sheath is an Eagle Industries jump rated nylon/kydex rig. Very nice stuff, I have a couple of their products and they are worth the pice. :D But its screaming for nice warm leather for the winter, but I have to find the time somewhere...anyone got an extra hour or two to spare?:confused:

Mike, That is just so wrong on so many levells! ;) and I am going to keep that little bit of info in mind for my daughter when she starts dating! lol!

Now about that coating, its textured almost like the crinkle coat. Is it a common coating? Or is it something that got done on occasion?

wow! Thanks for the new wall paper! :D:D Does either one of your coated BB's have that texture? Gotta get me one of those wonderful SH1's someday, I just love that crescent plunge line. I just noticed that some of the Badgers have that curve to the line too!! Very cool!! Uh oh, this is not good............the INFIfits are strarting to come back already!!!! The wife isnt gonna like this......:confused::p:D though she is starting to get used to it!:D:D:D
 
Both of the coated BBs have the normal smooth coat.
