New toys

well, i went to local knife shop, and i put my JYD2 SG2 on layaway (still owe $118 on it, but it'll be worth it ). the "line" between the two steels is close to perfect, but the lock didnt stick out of the box. that sticking is prolly a break in thing, but i am too impatient to deal with it lol. I cant wait to actually bring it home! gonna be a user/shelf queen *a.k.a. my new high end steak cutter * yeah im weird but you all knew that.

dont worry folks, i did come home with something though. a full size cyclone. this thread is going to be for my review of it. the SG2 will get its own thread.

OK guys, time for my review of the Cyclone

First Impressions: Good size folder. Fills the hand nicely, and is quite comfortable in the three major grips. Excellent blade shape. Fires out nice and fast and smooth. The manual flipping is taking some getting used to for me, but its more my fault than anything.

Fit and Finish: Typical Kershaw. Excellent grinds, strong AO, no ruff spots on the handle really. For the price, you cant get any better really. TOTAL - 10/10

Sharpness: Doesnt strike me as the sharpest Kershaw i have had out of the box, but it IS sharp. Came home after buying it, re-heated some steak, then used it to cut it up. Hot knife through butter. Shaves hair decently. Excellent tip. TOTAL - 9/10

Egros: all around great. My hand fits best in the saber grip, and ice pick grip. What i refer to as teh "traditional" grip, its comfy, but not the greatest. Thats more or less my hand than the knife. Nice smooth handles, just feels good. TOTAL - 9.5/10

Side notes: The On/Off switch is a tad annoying to turn Off, but i doubt that i have figured the technique out yet lol. Other than that, it works great.

Final thoughts: Great knife for the money. Have yet to use it alot as i have only owned it for 6 hours as of this post, so performance is TBD. I am sure it will do well. If it can knock my JYD2 off of its perch, well, then i REALLY like this knife .

Great pics there OL! I keep waffling back and forth on the Ti JYD. Figure I better hurry and come down off the fence though, before they all get gone!
