Well, as Thomas knows, I got some new toys the other day. Then I went back and traded some non-Kershaws that I don't use and got more. I'll give you my initial impressions on each (too tired to do full reviews right now)...
Scallion 1620FL (Framelock) About $30. It's the same as the other Scallions, except it has a frame lock instead of a linerlock. Typical Kershaw quality  I really didn't like the 420 HC at first (ie, when I got my first Scallion 3 years ago) but it's proven to be pretty darn good. The pocket clip is not reversible (right hand tip down only).
Shallot 1840 About $45. I wanted a bigger Leek, so this is what I got. The slight recurve isn't as hard to sharpen as my Storm II, and it takes a wicked sharp edge. Mine is from the first production run. It opened very fast right out of the box, but once I polished the blade tang and washers it was even quicker than my Scallions. The pocket clip is reversible for right-hand carry.
Shallot 1840CKT About $45. Same thing as the 1840, but in black. Yeah, it's the same exact knife in a different color. It's for when I'm covertly de-animating cardboard boxes and I don't want my knife to glare.
RAM 1910 About $51. I like this thing, although I didn't at first. Something about the lock bothered me, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I can open and close this just by manipulating the lock, which is fun. The flipper works great. I was going to give this to my buddy to try out for a few days, but he bought one of his own after handling mine. This one says 1 of 500. Pocket clip is reversible for right hand tip up or down, or left hand tip up.
Skyline 1760 About $31. I had one and had to get another. This thing is just so light! It opens lightning fast, and after polishing the washers, I don't even have to touch the flipper to open it. A flick of the wrist does it easily. Great value, and the steel seems to take a nicer edge than my other Sandvik knives. Pocket clip is reversible for right hand carry, tip up or down.
Pre-ordered a Zing in black (1735) for $42.
Needs Work 1820 About $30. Why are these things so addictive? I already have two, and this makes three. Two co-workers of mine went into the store and we bought four of these between the three of us. Nice sharp straight edge. Pocket clip is right hand tip down only.
Chive 1600DAM About $60. I have two Chives, but my friend Mr. Fancypants bought this damascus one for himself. I'm considering stealing it, then telling him that he never had one in the first place. Why does he have the box then? Well, I don't know. Maybe he should buy another one and put an alarm on it. Oh, forget it; I'll buy one. The pocket clip is right hand tip down only.
Random Leek 1660T About $55. Plain edge. I didn't really need this one, but I needed a new addition to my collection and it was either this or another Mini Cyclone. Nothing against the Cyclone, but I didn't have any of this one yet
Very sharp out of the box. Pocket clip is right hand tip up or down.
That's all for today; come back on payday.
