Nice to have you here, Kyle.

Okay, now we're getting somewhere...

Single or double blade trapper?

Also, which trappers have you got? I see you like Moore Maker and Bear from your profile...

I'm thinking we can probably find some suggestions here for you.

For production, try looking up GEC(Great Eastern Cutlery),they make some awesome Slipjoints.

i have a bear and son ebalone handle with damascus blades,a moore maker with long horn handle ,2 case xx one with a kind of ivy looking handle and the other is smooth bone , those are a few

As mentioned, the Tidioute and Northfield offerings from GEC have 1095 (carbon) blade steel.

Of course, Case has carbon (CV) steel in some of their trappers.

If you look around the net or the auction sites, you can still find Camillus made "Cold Steel" trappers in Carbon V.

Moore Maker (Queen) makes some excellent knives in 1095.

Eye Brand and some other German brands feature carbon steel

And if you were willing to opt for a single blade trapper, there are some custom makers that could probably make you something close to your price range.

I would definitely check out GEC in that price range. Their #73 scout pattern is 3 3/4" closed and available with one or two blades. They tend to make a lot of short production runs so there are a large number of different handle materials available. Boker and Eye Brand also offer carbon trappers in that size as well. If you can find a Queen City trapper it has 1095 steel and would be another good option.

Queen makes some decent trappers.

This one is maybe the nicest factory trapper I've ever seen.

Schatt & Morgan File & Wire Series I #4 Swaybelly Trapper

Beautiful bone, ATS-34 steel, terrific F&F. The only problem--they're discontinued.

Searching the web, you might find a used one for sale, between $125-$175.

They still currently make the pattern, and they're less expensive, but using 420HC steel.
I'd hold out for the ATS-34, or maybe Queen (same company, different name) will make one in D2, someday.

I agree. I can think of several makers on here that make wonderful single blade trappers in that price range (or maybe a few bucks more).
