Does the new Trident II have the Navy SEAL etch on the blade like the SEKI version? If yes, is there a version without the engraving?

Dan

The Trident or S2 doesn't have the Navy SEAL etch on its blade it has an insignia etch on its blade and that insignia is called The Special Warfare insignia - or Trident. The symbolism of the insignia represents the three mediums in which the SEALS operate as well as their branch of service. The central part of the insignia is an anchor, which identifies the SEALS as the Special Operations component of the US Navy. Behind and above the anchor is an eagle with its wings spread outward representing the air medium as well as the strength and courage of the SEALs. The eagle's right talon is holding a trident, representing the sea and symbolic of Neptune, the Roman god of the sea or the Greek sea god, Poseidon who used a trident as his sceptre. In front of the trident, the eagle's left talon is holding a cocked flintlock pistol. The pistol represents the land on which the SEALs operate and the fact that it is cocked indicates the SEALs' constant state of readiness. Only when an individual has successfully completed the Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training, as well as six months of probation and training with a team, is he authorized to wear the Trident, indicating his place in the Special Warfare Community. But I don't know if the new Trident II has The Special Warfare insignia etch on its blade.

I e-mailed a seller and they said the Trident II has the "Budweiser" i.e. SEAL logo on the reverse side of the blade. I was curious if this was an option or if all the new Trident II's have the emblem.

Thanks for the repley :)

Sorry for the delay. Busy trying to get caught up from being out for a week. The Trident II does have the SEAL logo/Special Warfare (whatever it is called) on it.

the Trident because the eagle is holding a Trident symbolizing the SEAL capability to strike from SEA AIR or LAND which is also where the name SEAL came from and it is nicknamed the Budweiser due to it's similarity to the Anheuser-Busch logo on ther beer products which are consumed by many SEALs on a regular basis.
