so i picked up the new Ruger LC9 and i was kinda second guessing it at first. i loved just about everything except the trigger. it had such a terrible pull i though i might get rid of it. but i did some research and found a mod for it. i was a little surprised being that the gun is so new but i guess i just got lucky. anyway i got the new trigger installed and it is AMAZING! so i now am in love with my new pocket 9. if anybody get one of these LC9's and is worried about the trigger dont give up, it can be fixed ha ha. its a great little gun and its a great shooter. the shorter trigger really tightened up my group as well.

I'm a picky trigger guy myself. Damn 1911's will RUIN a man with regard to fine triggers. A nice 1911 really spoils a fella...

I generally tinker with my revolvers and pistols until I get them where I can tolerate the trigger pull. A little fluff and buff goes a long way on some pistols.

.Edit to add: The folks over at Wolff gunsprings are very helpful... I highly recommend their reduced weight springs to enhance trigger-pull. Just make sure you give your gun a good work out at the range with a variety of ammo to ensure the springs are sufficient to pop the primer.

I was completely turned off by the stock trigger on the LC9. That was the determining factor in not getting one. After playing with Beef's today the LC9 is back in the running. It reduces the trigger travel by more than half I think and accuracy went straight up after the new trigger was installed.

I know the LC9 is popular, but for a small compact 9, I can't wait to fondle a Sig 938.

Beef, got any target pics to show a before and after?

for the lc9 and the lcp it really helps to pack the action with some valve grinding compound and work it a bunch. Then clean it out good and relube you will be amazed at how much better it works. Adding the better trigger is a great thing too.

Indeed the trigger is [almost] everything with a gun

I have a 9mm Ruger carbine and it needs a trigger job. Sometimes I am not sure if its cocked or not ...till I pull it far enough back and it goes bang. Not a good thing in a gun

I also have a S&W 40 (4006) that is sooooo sweet. It must be an old, cop gun. It really has a double action trigger. Pull it back and you hit the sweet hold spot every time - then a little 2-3 lb final resistance and then bang. Perfect every time - makes shooting fun. :)
