Im not sure how I feel about these. They have a lacquered feel, and are nothing like I was expecting from the online photos. I was expecting something like the polished Al Mar micarta scales or the bark river polished micarta. The brush strokes are very visible, and the coating is uneven. The holes are precision cut, and thats why they do not fit nicely, they are gummed up with the paint. Im hoping they break in or smooth out, is this normal for TRM scales?

Those are a nightmare. Send them back. It looks like they meant to use black linen or paper micarta, for the Al Mar look, but instead used canvas micarta & then tried to fix the look by smearing it with black-tinted epoxy, but were extra-sloppy and got it all over - except where they missed a spot above the pivot. FAIL.

Did you get those from TRM or a different party claiming to have gotten them from TRM?

I concur with the above post--those are a nightmare. Let Marianne Halpern know and I can pretty much guarantee she will make it right.

I got them directly from TRM, I messaged them and they took care of me promptly. I ended up modifying them myself, Im happy with the end result.
