I now own an Umfaan, a Mnandi, and a Sebbie and want to buy another Reevey.Does anybody know when the new Umfaan is out?

I recently asked that same question. The most authoritative response came from someone who had asked Chris about the status of the Umfaan. Chris' reportedly said that the update of the Umfaan has been placed on the "back burner" for now.

If you have small Sebbie, get a large... :)

I e-mailed this same question to CRK, and was given the "back burner" response -- and told that keeping up with current orders will delay the redesign of the Umfaan until sometime in 2005.

All good things come to those who wait....

I keep hoping that the new Umfaan will have a Wharncliffe blade. Boy, that would be one sweet looking knife. :D ;)

Yeh, Warncliff and a pocket clip.
As long as the clip is proportionate to the scales, but a clip small enough to in fact be proportionate may be too small for practical use. Therefore, there may be no clip.

I disagree, a pocket clip that size works great in the watch pocket of jeans.

I'm thinking more along the lines of the pockets of the khakis or other dress pants I wear to work. I've got a "Lakeland" from Knife House Hara that has a very small clip. It works OK but I wish it had a little larger clip so that it could provide a more secure hold. It slipped out of my pocket and fell to the floor one day when my shirtsleeve caught on it . Luckily it landed flat on the MOP scales but I still almost died while watching it fall.   :D

Trane, I'm sure they'll make the clip the right size. Gerber has the Mini Paraframe and the clip on it worked fine. And that knife is smaller than the Umfan.
