Yesterday I came home to a nice Priority Mail Flat Rate Box with my new-to-me Umnumzaan inside. My first impression was and still is: Wow, that is a solid knife. I really love my Sebenzas but the comparison between the two knives is amazing. The Umnumzaan feels beefier and incredibly solid, not that the Sebenza is in anyway lacking. The Sebenza seems a bit more refined and streamlined and the Umnumzaan just screams to be used.

I'm in the process of sharpening it back up and the S30V blade on it does take a nice edge.

My one question is this: do you need to fully disassemble it to remove lanyard pin? I don't have any loctite so I didn't want to disassemble without the proper tools to get it back together.

I know a new knife thread is useless without photos, so I'll get some up later.

Congrats on the Umnum, it's my fav CRK;) You could untie the lanyard, and the pin would fall out, but i wouldn't really recommend it unless you can re tie the lanyard knot as good as CRK does( i never can)

That was my other thought but you're right, there's no way I could re-tie it. I have no idea what type of monstrosity I would create trying.

glad i'm not the only one. for some reason or another, i can't get the knot right. there's just one step i seem to be missing that makes sure the knot doesn't move. It looks correct, but it doesn't act the same......

can never have enough pictures of an umnumzaan or any other CRK
