New umnun arrives

I got my umnunzaan today. Its everything i expected and much more. I had

more anticipation about getting this knife than any of my other 35-40 knives.

The lockup is 75% .....it locks up like vault of course...I only wish it was a

little easier to unlock. I got the umnun from NGK...I asked about the lockup

before they sent it....they had 2 both 75%.Ive tried to use my thumb its

very difficult. I use the tip of my forefinger and pull toward the handle and

and push the blade on my leg to close it.MUCH easier.

Now I understand what a few of you said about this not going to be my last

crk.This knife just shouts quality....every thing about. I love it.
 
congrats on your new crk! i do not own the umnum, but i have heard others say to use your thumbnail to disengage the lockbar. try it out...

I don't know how someone would use there thumb nail to disengage a Zaan...i have several and use the flat of my thumb...one handed opening and closing with one hand is a breeze.

Just cycle the knife a few hundred times ( should be able to do that in about 15 minutes easy) should smooth out.
 
Congrats on the new Umnumzaan :thumbup:

I find mine is as easy to close as it is to open.
 
I disengage my lockbar with the tip of my forefinger as well. I then give the spine a little nudge with my thumb to start closing it then finish with my forefinger. Sounds complicated but works fast for me and more comfortable than using my thumb.
