Hey Spark. Letting you know in case it was an accident. Maybe had something to do with the "sparktests", but all the "Registered Users" have had their titles changed to "New User".

Actually the users with less than 10 posts are now considered "new members" and are turned into "Registered Users" after the 10th post.

This was done to help combat spam and to try a few things out, and also to get a handle on how many people register and never actually post or stick around or whatever. I'll probably create another group where anyone who has under 10 posts and has been around more than 3 months is called a Lurker

Ah, I see. All "Registered Users" are showing up as "New User" to me. Even if they have thousands of posts though. Weird.

I like that. Does Tuvold get a "Super Lurker" title? :p

That shouldn't be happening.

EDIT: can you link me to a profile where that is happening?

But it is happening "off and on" sometimes today I have been a 'Registered User' then the next post it is 'New User'. :(

As in this post.

Ok, I'll have to look into this then.

Ok, I had screwed up the automatic "promotions" - got it fixed now. A member with more than 10 posts, or has a profile 365 days or older, will show up as a registered user, otherwise it's newbie city

Now that was quick work ...many thanks.

But looking forward to the day "Member" replaces 'user'!

There's a platinum palace :( ?!?! Maybe sometime I can upgrade. Are there discounts if you upgrade only halfway through your term?

mike, you can upgrade to a platinum membership and still make knives. you also get more pm storage which is a nice plus. thats mainly why i upgraded.
