Just trying to be consistant.

Glad to see you're BACK!

We've always got your back.

No fiddlin...

Does that mean you are going into stock making?

Longrifles look great with some fiddleback!

You could get a new avatar!

:D

i really like that spider. it manages to be tasteful and serves as a very unique identifying characteristic of his posts. i might have missed the change if not for that avatar.

IIRC, Andy is trying to overcome his fear of spiders....

Welcome Fiddleback! (violin shaped mark - the trademark of the brown recluse...;))

Is that a brown recluse?!

Yes it is. fiddleback spider = brown recluse spider

Munk, this statement by John is why I have a thing for that spider. They're everywhere down here in swarms. They're not recognized like the black widown, so its my little crusade to at least make sure you guys know that the most poisionous creature on our continent is a tiny spider the size of a quarter that is as common as junebugs down here. I found two under my mothers computer desk in their Mississippi basement once. They're under every third piece of wood on my woodpile. In my grandaddys barn I can find 50 in an hour without rushing to do it.

Luckily they're reclusive, and usually head the other way.

Plus, I like that it has the extra meaning of a wavy grain pattern in wood.

The sheaths I used to make were called Fiddleback sheaths. Its my username on most of the other boards too. So I thought I'd get consistant. I've got 3 more sheath orders to fill, then I'm going to be pounding steel, and selling knives. It was time to get my stuff lined up.

I've always been fascinated by Spiders, Andy. Not many people would pick the Fiddleback- I was curious.

There's a Hobo spider in the Pacific Northwest that needs a champion....

Good news, Andy! If your knives are anywhere near as nice as your sheaths, they should be fantastic. You've got talent, son.

Andy, good change! It's more fitting. We all still know you by your little buddy over your posts!

Once, when visiting friends in OK, I smushed a little brown spider in the sink with my bare hand. I only found out later how risky a proposition that might have been! He was definitely a brown recluse, and probably could have ruined my day!

Thanks, Andy!

Chris

Yes, whenever we burn, stomp, splat, squish, smack, rap, cut, nail, or shoot Brown Recluse Spiders we can have a moment in our thoughts of affection for our friend Andy.
