This album was just released today and if you like classic Van Halen (not Van Hagar) I think you might like it as much as I do. Some of the tracks sound like they could have been included on Fair Warning or Women and Children First. Dave sounds a little worse for wear but Eddie's guitar more than makes up for what Dave's vocals have lost. I feel like I'm back in high school!:thumbup:
 
I saw them on their 2008 tour and it was a great concert. I'm glad this new CD is actually good.
 
Thanks for the headzup. I downloaded the freebie song Tatoo on the promo a couple of months ago and wasn't impressed. I'll give the album a go however. Eddie gets a pass. He was my guitar hero growin up. Glad they're still gettin with it. Too bad they flushed Mike Anthony like they did. Wasn't right. Family is important but Mike bled VH blue for a lot of years. Downloading the album now. Cheers.
 
Don't let Tattoo throw you. It's the weakest song on the LP...I don't know why they chose it to be the single. Enjoy.
 
Track 11, Stay Frosty reminds me of Ice Cream Man. There are a lot of moments on this disc, riffs, lyrics, etc. that remind me of classic VH. I think this album is really good. I bought it yesterday and I've listened to it 3 times so far.
 
Thanks. I didn't realize it was out. I read Sammy Hagar's book this year. I don't think I've ever read a rock-n-roll autobiography before, but it was interesting. The way Sammy tells it, the Van Halen boys have some serious substance abuse issues and have blown all of the money they've made.

Musically, I like the David Lee Roth Van Halen better. I like Dave's cheesy swagger, too...
 
My understanding is that Mike passed because he really does not like Dave and it is pretty obvious that he is close to Sammy.
 
I read that Mike got kicked out so Eddie could get Wolfgang (his son) into the band.
 
I had no idea they were back together.
