I was looking for a new knife for EDC with a clip. I thought I had all the Buck knives I wanted, then I saw the Vantage line. I figured I would start out with the Select and see how I like it, then decide if I want to spent the money on the PRO. So far I really like it. I almost forget I have it clipped to my pocket, even thou it's the large. So, what advantage does the PRO have over the Select?

Materials, pretty much. G10 scales, S30V blade versus the Zytel scales and 420HC blade of the select. The G10 scales are also a tad bit thicker than the Zytel scales, but not by too much.

Buck's S30V with the Paul Bos heat treat is very good steel. I've been carrying my Pro for over a year and it holds an edge very well. I dont find it too hard to touch up every once in a while when I feel it needs it. The hollow ground S30V blade on the Pro is among my favorite. I haven't tried a Select but I can assure you that the Pro is worth every penny.
