My Father's Day present arrived today. It is a new Vantage Select, the small version. One sweet little knife. I am getting used to the flipper and it is very smooth either way. Great knife for EDC.

Thats a great Dads day gift Preach. Congrats-maybe post a pic of it in action if you can.

Congrats on your new vantage, I have a small Vantage Avid in my pocket right now. I love the feel and shape of the blade. perfect EDC. My others are feeling a bit left out sitting in the draw.

Thanks for the good words. I have a lot of Buck knives, more than I realized. Buck still honors the Lord with the message from Chuck. I apprecate that plus the fact that they make great knives. I'm trying to get my daughter to show me how to post pictures. When she does, I will. Thanks again.

Both excellent reasons Preach-I feel the same way:thumbup: Get your daughter on the job:D

My 8 year old son has been mowing the neighbor's lawn to save up for a vantage. We went to Bass Pro Shop this evening and he is now the new owner of a Vantage Avid. I must say that I am jealous! It is a beautiful knife with perfect lockup and a perfectly centered blade. I love the dymondwood. He's in bed now so I might have to go find it and check it out a bit. :D

My son turned 12 on the 4TH. one gift I gave him was a Buck vantage select small. I think it makes a great Boy scout knife and I love my large Vantage pro.

Congrats on a Great Fathers day gift. Hard to beat a Vantage!
I carry mine everyday.
Regards Sonny

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I carry mine a lot but as a pastor I don't always need something with that size blade. Lately my EDC has been a 709. Gives me two blades and carries so well in the pocket. I change around with different knives. These young people are blessed to have dads having you all helping them learn about quality knives.

Really like this Vantage but wondered if any of you have "tips" on getting the flipper to work like an assisted opener on a consistant basis. I flip it one time and it comes out like an a/o but the next time it stops half way. The only assisted opener I have is a small Kershaw and that thing pops right out there. I like it and it is a quality knife but it like Bucks. It's funny how quickly we get spoiled to an a/o when all I used to carry was a traditional folding pocketknife. I just want to learn to use this knife to the best of its capacity. Thanks for any "tips."

You guys were right. It really pops right out there. I still miss it once in a while but it is getting better all the time. Thanks again.:)
