New version of the Direware Solo-V1 (pic-heavy !)

Hey guys,

I just received a really nice package from Fedex : the latest and greatest version of the Direware Solo-V1 ! I believe this is the first knife in this new setup, so I have taken some pic's for you all so you can see the changes.

Some specs :

OPEN LENGTH : 8.40 inches
BLADE LENGTH : 3.30 inches
CLOSED LENGTH : 5.10 inches
BLADE DEPTH : 1.80 inches
BLADE THICKNESS : .187 inches
BLADE MATERIALS : CPM - S35VN
HANDLE FRAME : Carbon Fiber
HANDLE FRAME LOCK SIDE : 6AL-4V Titanium
TITANIUM FRAME FINISHES : Anodized Bronze Tumbled
BLADE FINISHES : Dark Tumbled



So, what has changed in the design ?

- Added jimping on the top of the blade :

- Improved deeper carry clip :

- Thumbstud blade stop instead of stop-pin :

- Added standoff for even more strength. Eric was able to do this because the stoppin is no longer "in the way" :

In comparison to the ZT0300 .....someone on a German forum asked me how the knives compare. They actually feel like they are about equally heavy, but I can't say in grams, just by holding them both.
The ZT0300 is just a couple of mm longer then the Solo, but the Solo is a lot thicker then the ZT.

Really great pics! Loving the solo-v1. I actually ordered one with the satin finished blade and the blasted ti from Eric about a month ago and was told that it'd be 4-5 months til completion. Curious if it took about that long for yours?

I think I waited about 3 months, but Eric's business has gotten a lot more attention in those last couple of months so it doesn't surprise me that the waitinglists have lengthened.
 
Thanks for the comparison too. Owning a ZT301 I get a real feel for the Solo now that you posted the side by side. My Solo has been on order for almost 6 months now but I'm not in a hurry. I have plenty of other tools/toys.:):)
 
I got mine this past October..I'm used to carrying my 0301, I couldn't really tell the weight difference that much, just a little thicker. Also how the pocket clip is angled, it really pushes the knife to the side still giving you plenty of room to access the pocket...you didn't mention if yours came with a bearing system in the pivot. It's similar to kershaws KVT system
 
Awesome review. Great pics of the two. I can't wait for my direware s-90 9 more months.
