Hi all,

Last night, I forced a horseradish mustard patina on an Opinel No. 8, using the Pillnitz method from knives.pl. I videoed the whole thing for my fellow forum members' viewing consideration.

Hope you enjoy!

Yikes! 15 minutes?!?

Nice job, looks good. Another horseradish mustard patina method is to use the knife to put horseradish mustard on your sandwiches. :)

Yeah the only suggestion I have is to edit it down to less than 5 minutes. And music is annoying, people would rather hear you just talk about what you're doing.

Haha! Yeah, a natural patina is the best way to go. :D But this was more of an experiment for fun that I had to do after reading the Pillnitz thread in knives.pl. Thanks for suggestion, I thought it was running a bit long, too, actually. My next video will be much shorter, promise.

Cheers,

Mag

Will do! I'm not big on talking a lot while working, but I might try to explain a bit out loud in my next video. Sorry for the choice of music. You'll laugh when I tell you why I chose it, though. :) Basically, I've heard a lot of horror stories of people getting legal threats from the big box music corporations because of background music, so I picked the music from my collection that I was pretty sure no music company would give a damn if I use it: Bop jazz piano solos from the 50's. So far, no lawyers have contacted me...

Cheers,

Mag

When I saw the thread title, I thought Horseradish Mustard was knife-guy code for some bizarre chemical method... Imagine my surprise that it was actually just... Horseradish Mustard! Cool idea. Thanks for the vid!

Ah, you misunderstood. Your music style/choice is fine, I'm just against ANY music in these types of videos.
