New video from cold steel

I don’t mind a little eye candy from time to time.

I did notice that they are pushing the self defense marketing with this knife.

Personally, I would lean towards camping or field use.

Shrug ... I don't see the need. Seems rediculous chopping cardboard and ropes.

I thought you needed a African American, Asian and a someone of a gender interested in the same gender to have a video ?

Kind of hard to push a knife like that for field use when it would be pretty terrible for field use. As a (as they put it in the video) modern Bowie knife (i.e. a sidearm) it seems fine.

Sex sells... but Secure Ex dulls your knife. Hard pass, Stick Man.
Found the source of the "sheath issue is fixed". It was right on our own forum. :)

"Just so everyone is aware, this issue was resolved a while ago. You may be receiving old stock. Lynn re-designed the sheaths after all of the (helpful) complaints and removed material from the inside-belly so that it doesn't contact the edge. It is definitely still possible to dull the edge if you're drawing the knife against the part that it can still contact, but the sheath argument keeps being brought up every few months. We have not had any real number of folks bring it to our attention in the last year or two as being problematic, but once in a while someone who gets a knife that's 2-3 years old with the old sheath and it ignites the fire again here. Yes, they were bad originally, the market let us know that and we fixed it. We replaced sheaths on tons of knives to remedy it. We can't guarantee what else is still out there, which may explain the fact that it is not a frequently discussed issue anymore. We'd be happy to get you a new one once we have them in stock again. We haven't had them in stock for almost a year so whatever you've received is likely a problematic sheath model. Give us the benefit of the doubt or at minimum the opportunity to make it right."

nice knife and all.
not bad a video.
stickmad has an acceptable style
as show host.
a balanced video presentation
hope to see even more
explosive combative gurl cutting power!
but honestly,
the female knife market segment
should be addressed
with a regular cross section truly representative of humanity's better half.
its a real market and should
not be neglected as a side show.
but for now i applaud the video direction.

I do believe Cold Steel fixed the Secure Ex issue several years ago. I just don't remember the source for that info....
I've got a butterknife dull Tai Pan I bought 2 years ago due to their sheath. I sharpen it, slide it in a few times, dull. I sharpen it, slide it in and out of the sheath I made for it out of leather, razor sharp.

As far as fixing their issues, I have a two handed viking axe that came with a crack in the head. I sent in pictures and was sent an email that "We will send this directly to the president of the company".

I gushed over the fact that THE LT would be seeing my factory defect and supposedly get back with me.

...then I heard nothing for about a year (partly due to covid, I'm sure), and CS was sold. I never got that response from the president ;)

Cold Steel left me hanging, their sheath dulls my $175 knife, and I find using a pretty girl to push mediocre stainless Bowies both sexist and pointless. YMMV, but this this is, like, strike 26 for Cold Steel and my $$$.

Of course, this is coming from a guy who is a CS tomahawk junkie. Ill still buy those I'm sure;)

why cs hawks?... honestly curious, seem really expensive, and... on top of that, old handaxe heads with proper ash/hickory/oak handles seem better in every way (vibration/weight/feel)

maybe I'm just missing the allure
