I really like the look of well used tools. And to me pocket knives are the best tools of all. I don't think a knife has to be new and bright to take pride in it.

I have a Kershaw Skyline Brown that I keep pristine, but all of my other blades definitely have character. I can't truly love a knife until I've beat it up a bit. Not just from a looks standpoint, but that you can't truly tell how good a knife is until you've used it.

I really only carry two knives: primarily, the Umnumzaan. It's a great folder. Occasionally, I'll carry a large Sebenza. Neither one is new; don't care.
My new folders (almost always Spyderco) stay in boxes...to be used for sale or trade.
