We went to the local Wally Mart this afternoon, and while the wife did the household shopping, my son Travis and I went to the sporting goods section to have a look...
I noticed some Buck tins on the end of one aisle, and took a closer look, and was a little surprised. One of the tins has a 482 Bucklite Max, with a small 425. The 482 has the Boone & Crockett logo on the blade.

The other tin had a Nobleman with unique scales, and a small slipjoint that also has different scales. The Nobleman scales look to be wood and metal, and the slipjoint scales are black, but about 1/3 of the scale are a different material. Not sure what it is actually. I wasn't feeling real shiny, so I didn't spend a lot of time looking at them.

Both tins were priced at 17 dollars a piece. Nothing real earth shattering, but I thought that both were interesting combinations. I may have to go back tomorrow and pick one up that has the 482 in it.

Yes, those came out back before Christmas. You'll notice that the 482 is lacking both the belt clip and the thumb stud if that matters to you. Also, the Nobleman only has the fancy stuff on the side you see in the tin. They were $20 when they first hit the stores.

Thanks Dave. I guess I need to get out a little more often :D I can live without the clip and thumb stud, but finding out the Nobleman only has the goodies on one side, would have been a little disappointing. But then again, for the price, a guy could easily over look that

Those are nice knives. I bought both--- more than once. ;) DM

:D Can't beat the price. I should pick up a couple, before they are gone. I'm surprised they had as many left over as they do. The spot they have them in, is easily over looked. I'll bet if they put them out so they were easily seen, they wouldn't last long

Just make sure and check---the nobleman and slip-joint are made in China--The other one made in USA. Just thought you might want to know.

I'm packing the 482 today as my EDC. It's a great little blade. I haven't seen the Nobleman set in my local WaMart but haven't been in since just before Xmas. Might need to stop by and see it they have it now. Sounds like a nice/interesting set.

I'm thrilled with the 482 I got for myself for Christmas and will probably get some for gifts at the $17 price.
