I got my GW from the Company Store in the mail yesterday and took it down to JRE Industries for some leather.

This is what they came up with:

I'm really pleased with the final product and they told me the sheath could easily be made with a firesteel loop.

The knife rides nice and deep and tight and the sheath sits just right where I want it on my belt.

Now all that's left is to carry the new Warden and beat the snot out of it. :D

One question on the sheath. Why did you leave it square and not cut off the excess leather that curves for the blade? I was figuring you wanted the holes there for tie offs but wanted to make sure. Looks good though:thumbup:

I've really become a fan of the "bushcraft" style sheaths and just find the squared bottom much less likely to poke me like a pointed sheath would.

The extra eyelet does allow attachment options also. I've got a JRE firesteel neck pouch that would attach to the front of this sheath with just a couple of zip-ties if that was how I wanted to carry it.

Being a full custom/production shop they can, of course, make a sheath with a square bottom or pointy, with eyelets or without, black or brown, high-ride or low-hanging...whatever you'd like.

This just happens to be what I am used to, what I like, and what I asked for.

Sure, ask for another pic once I've got the camera all tucked in for bed...;)

Not the best picture but not too bad.

Notice the extra hole in the belt loop. This is what happens when experienced sheathmakers allow guests to help in the manufacture of a sheath...

I am very fond of that design. It makes for easier/more comfortable pocket carry as well.

Very nice pants and fingers too! Carry what you love

LOL! Nice fingers?! That's the first I've heard that.

Thanks for the compliment. I took the picture with the onboard camera on my MacBook--it's faster than getting out the camera, staging a shot, shooting, connecting the camera to the computer, resizing the image, etc., etc...

Not great but it gets the point across.

Thanks again,

B
