Well some of you may remember some issues I had with my old Hamilton watch.

Well it sprung another leak after being "repaired" I will give them credit it looked nice the second time around, but apparently it wasn't "fixed."

I managed to get my money back in the form of store credit with Tourneau. Which was more or less fine, because though I wouldn't have minded selection from other brands they don't stock I was determined to have a watch.

Yesterday I ended up at the Tourneau store in Cabazon. I had seen Oris and liked the look (not necessarily to keen on the price, but I don't plan on having this watch any length shorter than life if I can help it) and went in feeling good about them, I tried to find a cheaper watch that made me happy, but it wasn't happening. I grabbed a few Oris watches and debated for an hour or two, finally picked the more expensive BC4 Small Second Day Pointer. It fit the bill, no chronograph, automatic mechanical Swiss movement.

For reference here is the Oris Williams F1 Skeleton Engine I was looking at against it.

Without further ado, here she is in all her glory. I am very happy to say the least, a very excellent watch. Have no reservations about recommending this watch to anyone looking for a true mechanical watch.

Great pickup m8. I have three Oris watches myself TT1, BC3+ and an Artelier. In my opinion they are the best bang for the buck watches available.

Damn. That is an awesome watch. Do you know if it's ETA or Valjoux 775X? I had a longer post about how awesome I think this watch is, but you obviously know how awesome, so I don't think I need to say it. But DAMN! That is an awesome watch. COSC certified, fantastic day complication, I love the small second dial, the lume looks fantastic, I really like the date window set up. It says on the back that it has a Sapphire Crystal Front (did you know that UBoat Watches ($4K) don't have a sapphire crystal front, but have an optic glass lens?) does that mean that the back exhibition window is not?

It's a shame the Hamilton didn't work out, though, apparently their the best value in watches.

I got a new watch last week, too, it's nowhere near as awesome as that watch, but I love it. Nice watches feel nice, don't they? Wear yours in good health! Fantastic watch.

This is the info I pulled off Oris' website, and the movement number is 645 on the watch itself.

Oris 645, base ETA 2836-2

So it is a proper ETA movement. It is not COSC certified. But so far it seems quite accurate I have it perfectly synced with my computer clock which updates to to the second with GMT (with a 7 hour offset)

I do not believe the rear exhibition is sapphire, BUT I don't anticipate getting scratches on it as it is pressed against my skin at all times of wearing. I'm very happy with it. Not the cheapest thing I've ever bought (actually probably the second most expensive thing I've personally payed for).
