New water treatment

I always wonder when I see a "newer, better mouse trap".
Every straw I've seen or heard about to date never lives up to it's hype.

That's not new, and that sort of principle has been proved to be efficient in tests. The English Pre-Mac Company uses the same system (Iodine resin Matrix + Active charcoal). That said Pre-Mac cartridges are sold about $30 for pretty much the same purified volume, so I wonder how they make it so cheap and if it is as efficient.

I hope it shuts down when its value is gone .
It most likely won't. Iodine resin plays the major part. Treatment is chemical. When chemical properties are gone, people won't notice. Plus that kind of purification will leave some iodine in water, less then iodine drops but I wonder about side effects in the long run.
