I don’t get the Civivi/WE clip hate. I think they’re fine. Especially because I immediately remove every single pocket clip on every single knife I get, lol.

I don’t use pocket clips during carry, so I’m glad I don’t have this problem. I love that Civivi/WE don’t cut an inset into their handles to sink the clips.

This is a big deal for me. Companies often make knives reversible for lefties. Recessing the clip often means having a recess on the show side. With or without a fill plate, that usually looks ugly to me. Occasionally, it can have at least a small impact on ergonomics. Just a couple of screw holes is vastly preferable.
 
I have an occasional interest in modding. Having something close to a universal clip or screw spacing for clips can be handy. It allows for the swapping of variations.
