Killing my bank account! January looks like the first month in a long time I’m not interested in either of the new CIViVI or WE designs. Whew.

Well, it is called Thug XL…

I think this uses the same thickness as the regular Thug, which is already thicker than I want or need in an EDC folder. I have the same issue with the Mini Buster. I feel like anything over 0.125" is just contributing drag. A wider wedge is a hindrance when passing through materials. Any benefit to sturdiness from being thicker than 0.125" seems mostly sentimental in an EDC folder.

The Civivi Thug is much more attractive at 0.12". While not quite the same as the compound grind here, the BladeHQ exclusive Tanto Elementum at 0.11" is nice approach.

Agreed, but like the Hinderers, these are named, marketed and built for “tougher-than-normal-EDC” tasks.

Buy according to your tasks. Some folks might like the thicc.

I like the .118 (3mm) CIVIVI generally uses for 90% of my stuff. WE knives are all .126 (3.2mm) and I can tell the difference, easily, in that 0.2mm.
