First Impressions on My First Wenger
Got my Wenger Ranger today. It's just over 5" closed. been carrying it around the house and have been impressed. Except for one thing. The pocket clip makes the big knife uncomfortable to hold so I took it off and ordered a Wenger belt sheath. It is very like and I really can't feel it in my pocket (back pocket), which is a great benefit for this knife giving it a less bulky feeling. Another great implement is the liner lock is released by pressing the swiss cross. It is also very comfortable and is not a chore to carry in my pocket. Shaving sharp edge. Love it!!:thumbup: Any else try the new Rangers? What are your thoughts? I have nothing to compare them to since I have not tried the older model Rangers.

I have the Ranger 56 (blade, opener layer, saw, and backmounted awl and phillips), and it has been my hiking knife since I got it two months ago. Granted, I haven't really used it, but I like the overall feel of it very much. Not too bulky with a good amount of tools on it.

I own the original Ranger 53. It is a great blade and you will not be disappointed with Wenger quality.

i bought one when they first came out at dicks sporting goods. my dad took it from me and i just passed it along to him! very nice just didnt care for the pushing in the emblem! like to know how it would hold up after alot of use!

I was thinking five inches sounds awful big then again I used to EDC a Spydie Police.;)

Nice, I have one of the old rangers with the clip blades. Haven't used it much but takes an edge really well and the length is great for sandwiches.

Here are some pics of the sheath. It is very good quality. I would trade the velcro for a snap though. The lanyard hole on the sheath comes in very handy for attaching an emergency lanyard in case I need to work near water, etc. Fits my knife with the belt clip on or off.

Over all this knife has performed well above my expectations thus far. Throughout its week of usage it has cut straps, base cove, tubing. It is a bit hard to open one handed. More updates to come.

Where are you all getting the new Ranger from? I've only found the serrated version on Campmor.co.
