I see that Wenger has introduced a new version of the Esquire with a real pair of nailclippers and a file........great idea.

Wenger is very innovative & they make great products. I have a few Wengers & can't see any quality difference between them & Victorinox.

You are probably right as they are both made with the same Swiss precision, and they are now under the same ownership. I can't speak to it as I don't own any Wengers. Nearly purchased one once, but didn't.

Wenger SAKs are so alien to me as I have owned Victorinox SAKs since I was a boy.

A freind of mine has one & he really likes it. Since I don't have one I cannot give a review on it.

I got a couple of "two packs" around Christmas (really cheap at sports authority) and gave them to my wife and three teenage boys. Since there were 4 total, I was the odd man out and didn't get to keep one. They certainly appear to be quality devices.

The wife carries it all the time now, replacing the 58mm Vic she had been carrying for a few years. I have seen each of the three boys using theirs. This, to me, says they must be good.

Peace
Fred

Thanks.

So, you are saying that I might be able to get it at my Sports Authority.
I'll look.

Thank you.

That model is called the Swiss Clipper. They also make a version sans knife blade (replaced with a screwdriver) for air travel (it's supposed to be TSA-OK). That model is the Swiss Clipper AT.

Thanks.

The S.A. by me carries Wenger products, though the store stock seems pretty spotty. The Swiss Clippers they had around Christmas were in "his and hers" twin packs - one red one translucent purple? They were on sale for 1/2 off the marked down price which turned out to be about $15 for a twin pack. I haven't looked since then so don;t know if they still carry them or what the prices would be like now. Good luck!

One thing I should mention - these things are pretty thick as the clippers take up a few layers worth of space. If that is a concern, I would try to look at one before ordering online.

They work great! My wife and I both have one. I don't EDC mine, but it is my primary nail clipper choice.

I like them a lot. I carry the brushed Stainless Steel model on my keyring. It doesn't have the ergonomic scales but it is very classy and doesn't show any wear marks.

Has anyone experienced whether the airline friendly ones which as I understand it are technically compliant, are actually allowed on the plane?
