Here are some quick scans of a prototype of the new William Henry International Evolution Series S07-G folder. Blade is of VG-10 heat treated to a Rc of 59, liners are dual 420 stainless, and overlays of hand contoured G-10. Future production runs will have organic handle materials (bone and stabilized hardwood).

The S07-G does not have a clip attached to the handle, but rather will come with WH's ClipCase holster. Basically it is a sewn slip sheath with a steel pocket clip riveted to it. Carries just like a clip knife, and allows you to slip the knife in and out easily. It completely conceals the knife while clipped to the pocket. The ClipCase shown here is also a proto and is subject to change. Here are a couple photos of it:

And here is a picture of the clip side of the ClipCase:

Thanks for the info Dex. Looks like a winning combination.

Does the clip on the sheath grip the pocket firmly enough to leave the case in your pocket when you draw the knife? Or do you have to push down on the sheath at the same time you pull on the knife? If so, the knife is one-handed, but it's an not "instant-response" sort of one-handed, but then William Henry is trying to corner the Gentleperson's Knife market.

James, I'm going to have to disagree with you on the "instant-response"/"Gentleperson's Knife" issue.

When when my wife informs me that some garment has a loose thread (usually just as we're walking into the wedding, or some other formal ocassion), it is my duty as a husband and a gentleperson to *instantly* produce some method of cutting that thread.

I need to be able to shift whatever I'm carrying to one hand and use my other hand to quickly produce that knife to restore her wardrobe to perfection. If that sheath keeps me from doing that -- if I have to put down the present, or food offering or whatever else I've been loaded up with in order to respond to this emergecy situation -- then it's just not an effective solution as far as I'm concerned.

I'm being somewhat facetious here, but it *is* the reason I bought the WH Lancet with the carbon fiber scales. It's the only one with a clip.

(BTW, she *does* have her own knife, but she keeps it in her purse -- talk about non-instant response! Its far easier for her to ask me for mine.)

James - the clip on the ClipCase has sufficient tension to hold the case in the pocket while you withdraw the knife, so a one hand draw, one hand open is possible. Just as a regular slip sheath does not "trap" the knife too tightly, the case is the same with the ClipCase. I think William Henry is on to something with this - to offer the best of both worlds. An elegant clipless gentleman's folder with the convenience of a clip carry folder.

I forgot to say in my original post that the knife has dual thumbstuds. This adds to the convenient accessibility while in the pocket.

Cool Dex! What is the blade length? I had good luck with the TiNives tactical sheath, which is on the same principle as the WH .It was easy to use and provided greater handle comfort when using the knife without the clip attached. What I really liked was the ability to go into stealth mode by dropping it,sheath and all, into my pocket without fear of the knife getting dinged up by whatever else was in there.Great idea.Wish more companys did this.

David - blade length is in the neighborhood of a little over 3" It's the perfect size for daily carry IMO. Blade is long enough to tackle most "mundane" cutting tasks and short enough to not raise any eyebrows.
