I have a couple Winkler knives that I really like for hunting and occasionally camp chores ... and recently saw that Winkler/Knight had a few collaborations coming out and one caught my attention so I checked into it and went ahead and ordered one ...

It's the Jager ... it is a smaller knife at 8" with a 3 1/2" blade in Winkler's 80CrV2 steel and the Caswell finish ... it comes with several handle options from Maple (which is what I ordered) ... Walnut ... Micarta ... Rubber ... different handle textures also ...

I haven't had it long enough to use it other then to bbq and do a little food prep but I really like the knife so thought I'd post it ... it comes with a clip or you can get an optional drop loop directly from Winkler when you order or later as an accessory ... I prefer Sagewood Belt Loop Attachments so that is what I put on this sheath in the pictures ... but you could have several options or how to set it up ...

I am going to post a few pictures now and after I've had a chance to use it more I may do a write up on it ... for those of you that enjoy a smaller fixed blade for an EDC this may be a nice option for you ... as you can set it up for horizontal carry also ...

the last couple pictures I added a CRK Umnumzaan and a CPK EDC2 for a size comparison ..

I love winklers blades. That one is smaller than I expected. I have a belt knife and love it

Congrats! Another fan of the Belt Knife here.

I'm pretty tempted by the Pathfinder but my fixed blade buying is really slow these days.

I have a Hunting Knife and Blue Ridge Hunting Knife ... I looked at 3 newer models ... the Jager the Pathfinder and the Woodsman ...

I wanted this smaller blade to try I think the Woodsman might be my next Winkler ...

But so far I'm really liking this Jager ... it's great for an EDC ... handy for carry when you want a bit smaller knife ... the design on the Jager feels great in my hand ... the jimping gives you great control for detail work ...

I'm surprised I don't see many people talk about Winkler Knives more.

That’s a really good looking knife!!

I've been really tempted, and I think if I was a fixed blade carry guy I would get a Pathfinder with sculpted handles in a heart beat and it's too nice to let collect in a drawer so I just admire them from afar.

Congrats on the new knife.

This one is not for me though. I happen to like both the Winkler Belt Knife and several knives from Knight (how can one not).

I even like the harpoon style from several makers.
This one does not appeal to me though.
Design seems ... compressed .. some how (for lack of better words)
Maybe the knife is too small for the harpoon style or maybe its because, I have yet yo handle the knife.
As long as the owner is chuffed.

I wondered about the size as both my other Winklers are bigger ... but the deign on the Jager with the jimping lends it to feel great in my hand ...

it wouldn't be for someone wanting a big knife ... but its a great EDC ... and I think it will be a great hunting knife for everything up to and including whitetail deer... and it's thinner than most his bigger knives ... makes it a pretty good slicer for a stoutly built knife.

Sounds good.
Sounds like itll perform well for the intended purpose.
Cant really go wrong with a knife from either of those two knifemakers, I guess. Let alone a collab.
Get a Knight Kukri next:D
