base sanding is completed, ill be attempting to replicate a form of "snakeskin" micarta. Obviously it won't be as amazing as the ones produced by Busse, but it will be functional and look great.

Natural, tan, brown micarta with black "spacers". Still have to hand carve the ridges and lines and do some evening out on the sides.

let me know what you guys think please, Positive and constructive criticisms are welcomed, still learning to create new items. And yes this is all homemade micarta nothing purchased.

Thanks

So far looks really good, homemade micarta can look sloppy sometimes but that stuff looks like it was done right. Post up finished pics too

Honestly, that would look awesome if you stopped right there, and just polished it. I cant wait to see the finished product!!!!

here is the beginning of the scaling. tough with just a dremel and hand file lol but fun. I was hesitant to do it since i like the look of these as they were, but i figured i have plenty of material i have made so i can always reproduce them if i mess them up.

Let me know what ya think as i go.

More pics to come

I don't see anything to criticize- constructive or otherwise. :) The home made micarta looks good and the spacing of the lines looks good also. On my monitor, it looks like the diamonds are larger at the end of the tang and become smaller toward the point. If this is not an optical illusion, I would guess you planned it that way. I like it.
