I haven't posted much lately. I've been busy. I finally completed my thesis and finished with grad school. Also, my wife and I just bought a house and 44 acres. So I have some woods that needed to be scouted out.

The tools I took with me.

Found some mullein

and passionflower.

I noticed some deer tracks

We have a camera out, but don't have any game pictures yet.

The previous owner built a blind.

and also some homemade tree stands.

A creek runs through the property.

It's pretty wooly in some places,

and the easiest way to pass through is via the creek bed.

There was a tree on the fence,

but it was no problem for The King.

There is a power line cut along the north end.

Nearby is a clearing that should be good for a campsite or food plot.

From the clearing, a path runs back south, past something's den,

and back out to the gravel road.

Thanks for looking. I plan to have more adventures in these woods to share.

Nice. My wife and I are looking for something like that in Vermont. The end of August will be our first scouting trip.

Congrats all around. You've got a great looking place to play. Bet you get some major enjoyment out of that.

hmmm...
considering my lack of luck getting people here, maybe we should organize a campout on your land -- may even be close enough to Tulsa to tempt Rob (BattleCreek) out of his hideyhole!

congrats! what kind of tractor you gonna get to help care for it? :D

Awesome little slice of heaven you got there Jordan!

I'm not sure about that, we might get Derek out there raiding the land swearing Jordan is stashing something.

Nice land man! Very nice!

44 acres of woods that's actually your own... What was that? No, i'm not jealous at all:P

Well, to be exact, it's only 8 or 10 acres of woods. The rest is pasture. The pasture pays the bills, and the woods are for fun.

Damn 44 acres of open space to enjoy any time you want, that's relaxing.

It is. Though, I do have a lot of work to do on it as well.

Best of luck in your search.

Thanks Trade. I'm sure I will enjoy it.

Could be a possibility someday. Of course, I need to put some work into it first.

For now, I'm going to borrow Dad's Ford 4610. I'm also working on renovating my father in law's pasture across the road, so I have lots of fence building and brush hogging ahead of me.

Awesome little slice of heaven you got there Jordan!

Thanks Derek.

i hope to find some land like that too, somewhere in Michigan.

Good luck. Hope you find something good.

Thanks.

Might? Derek posted at 10:57. By 10:59, he traced my ip adress, cross referenced it with every for sale listing in Southwest Missouri over the past month. For good measure, he also found the exact coordinates of my location using the time stamp and the length of the shadows in the above pictures. He is at least halfway here already.

Wow. I'm frickin good.

Man - that looks great! I grew up in eastern Oklahoma, and your pictures remind me of home...

very nice. congrats on completing grad school and your new home/land. that is awesome.

Congratulations S-S, on both passing the school hurdle and purchasing your own 44 acres of paradise. I'm way more than a little jealous. Based on your photos, I'd say you're a prime candidate for some serious BK9 chopping. :)

Awesome stuff. Wish I had a place like that. Congrats.
