You guys probably already knew this but I noticed this morning (9/14) that some Mnandi and Sebenzas with the new wood selections are starting to show up on some of the usual authorized CRK dealer web sites. They will most likely go pretty fast. I know for a fact that that a small Sebenza with splated beech didn't last too long.:D

While I like the look of the spalted beech I got the guts feeling it could be brittle.
ARK wouldn't use it for an inlay if that would be the case, I know.
It's just a funny feeling when I see it.
Yes it also reminds me of mammoth tooth.

Because of the grain running the other way....???

I assume it would have to be stabilized, since the "spalted" look of the wood is caused by fungus that weakens (and eventually rots) the wood. It does look nice, but is going to be better on the Mnandi IMO because of the single piece!

A few of us are waiting for the Mnandi.... Lol

Those Mnandi folks are passionate about their tiny knives.

If you want tiny, catch an Umfaan!

I've come to the conclusion I like wood inlays better on Mnandis than I do Sebenzas, with the possible exception of the Annuals.
