Decided the 3.5 spanto was a little much for an edc, so I sold that and went with this 3 inch slicer with a blasted Duratech 20cv blade. For what I got on the auctions for my 3.5 spanto and getting USN member pricing, this blade turns out to be a pretty good deal. Should arrive on Wednesday, here are pictures from the site in the mean time.

Nice. But IMO you should swap out the clip and space piece for a standard Ti color - and sell me the blue ones :)

Got it from a dealer on Hinderer's website (the name is on the pictures). The knife came from a guy who won a hinderer lottery in November. It's advertised a new gen. 3. I wanted a standard slicer that I could customize myself over time, but this one popped and has all the bells and whistles I would have got anyway. I don't see many 3" xm-18's going around so I felt good about this one, especially with the blasted blade which I never see.

She's a Beauty  You should be (undoubtedly are) very happy and excited to have that inbound.
Enjoy it in Good Health.

Is it true that only the 3.5" xm-18 move from gen. 2 to gen.3, and now gen4? While the 3" stayed a gen. 2 design? Correct me if I'm wrong...

Not wrong. Check out RDA's sticky on history and general info - it's a good synopsis and reference.
