My father-in-law has a very nice summer house at the very top of the Chesapeake Bay. It's a very cool place. My oldest son and I woke up early and the tide was out farther than I have ever seen it. We went out walking.

My oldest son looking at an old pier that has seen better days. This whole area is usually under water...even during low tide. I have no idea why he has that goofy look on his face.

and of course the obligatory knife content.

My son had a Kershaw KS1660TSW Random Leek and I had my Brett Dowell sway back.

A funny thing happened in regards to the Dowell sway back. My wife borrowed it and I forgot to ask for it back. As we were leaving the bay house en route to South Street in Philadelphia, I realized I didn't have my knife. That cold...hollow feeling started to eat away at my stomach. I asked my wife were it was and saw the panicked look on her face. She told me she was "positive" she had put it in one of the bags. I checked all of them and it wasn't there. Her father checked all over the bay house and it was just gone. I was not a happy person. I called Brett and ordered another one. A couple days later we headed out for some Japanese food and one of the 11 year old offspring puts on a sweat shirt and pulls my knife out of his pocket. "Why do I have this?" he asked. I looked at my wife and she smiles and says..."oh...now I remember what I did with it." No worries I said...I'm not canceling the order......compensation for pain and suffering.

Not in Community Center you don't. Moving to General Knife Discussion.

You should be happy, having a knife on you of _any_ description in Philly will give you a $300 minimum fine and possibly 90 days in the slammer, if a cop finds out. You should thank your wife for saving you ;)

The only excuse is if you are working and need a knife for your work. There is not even anything mentioned in the law about transporting it to and from work.

Of course a gun with an LTCF is perfectly fine

Thanks for the pics. I am born and raised in So Cal, so nice to see ocean where the morning sun rises. No knives allowed in Philadelphia? That is not brotherly love at all...

This perfect thread is one of the many reasons I am glad I found the Blade Fourms last month. The knife tie in was “LOL” :D:D:D:D & so

Yea.....I'm familiar with the "any knife or sharp object that can be used as a weapon" thing in Philly. It certainly didn't stop me from cutting my cheese steak in half at Jim's. Jim's are the best cheese steaks in the world BTW....cheeze whiz and no onion goodness.

Obviously a matter of taste, but I've been kind of disappointed at Jim's a couple of times (bland/tasteless). The ultimate hidden cheese steak gem of Philly is a couple blocks down on South (between 5th & 6th), "Tattood Mom's" has an awesome cheese steak (or ANY other food) and you can get it like you want it. The patrons might put you off, though.

You might also want to eat at Geno's, for political reasons ;)

Is Sophie's Food Truck still on the PENN campus? She made great Cheese Steaks.

I know what you mean about them sometimes being bland. The ones we had just recently were excellent. I know Jim's is a bit touristy but we had a couple of people with us who had never had a Philly cheese steak. You have to go to Jim's just to say you've been there.
I've been to Tattooed Mom......big painting of a naked woman over the bar. The food is good. I don't recall having a cheese steak there though...I'll try one next time. Thanks for the tip

I've never been to Geno's....but I've been to Pat's right across the street.
