New Year Giveaway

Well, I know it isn't January 1st, but I'd like to run this giveaway in the spirit of the new year anyway. 2025 is off and running, we are already two weeks in.

I have a Case mini trapper in purple jigged bone. This was a knife that I got at the request of my wife, who requested I find something with purple covers. I didn't have it long before I was able to get my hands on an 81 that GEC released. Because of this I'd like to pass this one along to someone that can use it.

I am also including one of my olive green money clip wallets with black thread. This wallet is great for someone that doesn't want a bulky wallet and has a convenient clip to securely hold your cash. Though not pictured, there is a pocket on the inside of each panel that holds additional cards.

While I won't require paid membership to enter, please be a member that contributes regularly to the Porch.

To enter, please post one or two things that you are looking forward to most during 2025.

I will let this run through Monday evening and will choose winners from a random name picker.

I will enter for my wife, these would be perfect for her. Her favorite color is purple and that wallet would be just right for her.
The things that I am most looking forward to are raising my son, we can’t wait for his 2nd birthday, and I also can’t wait to get outside again! I’ve been stuck indoors because of cold weather and having a baby at home but it’s warming up and I can’t wait to get outside and smell some campfire smoke again.

I’m planning on going to the Badger Knife Show, in Janesville Wisconsin, with an old friend. Hopefully afterwards I’ll have something new to share with everyone here on the porch. Lance
 
Pease count me in too. I am planning a family trip to Boston Memorial Day weekend. It will include about 12 epic hours of me solo with some dear, old friends.
Another thing I am looking forward is having my foot no longer broken. I broke the 5th metatarsal a week ago, and it is a serious bummer.
 
A generous GAW from a heckuva dude! 👊 Not an entry for me as the Porch has already blessed me numerous times. I'd rather increase the odds for others! 🤝

With that being said, I'm looking most forward to continuing to focus on my health and hopefully set some new personal records this year!

Also, I'd like to catch a trout. 😁

I have some of your beautiful leatherwork and would rather see someone else with some.

Knife wise I’m looking forward to my first Cosimo landing here, hopefully not too long.

Like always I’m looking forward to April, that’s the red stag rut here.

And lastly, a full nights undisturbed sleep would also be heaven! I can dream on that one I guess.

As an avid hiker I am hoping to hike the Laurel Mountain Trail!! 73 miles. Planned on doing it in 24 but didn’t happen!!
Also hiking some of the AT around Harpers Ferry!!

I remember when mine were that young, it was demanding and very rewarding. Camping and campfires are usually the highlight of my summer.

I’ve heard good things about the Badger Knife Show. In fact, there are a group of porch folks that have gone there and met up for the past few years.

Thanks Chris. I suppose we (including me) should all strive to improve those things, and try to catch some fish while we are at it.

Thanks Austin. Birthday #1 is a big deal for us parents (and something out children will n not remember). Charlie’s lamb is another gem, hard not to be excited for it.

Cosimo’s work is fantastic, and is quickly becoming in high demand. I am excited to see yours when it arrives. Having a newborn makes for long sleepless nights, I’m hoping you are able to got yours to the all night sleeping schedule soon.

I'm looking forward to bass fishing in the spring, and casting bullets and testing new loads throughout the summer, and then hunting in the fall.

Those are fantastic things to be looking forward to. I would be looking forward to the bass fishing and hunting as well, but not many places to do either here.

I forgot to mention, that bass fishing and hunting will include my 5 year old, who will be 6 by hunting season. He went with me last year once, and we bumped some does on the way out. He still talks about it.
