I have had an interesting ride recently. Changes in life and I sold half my collection, am going to sell more (only 2 more coming then no more). I am living more frugally and look at the world differently and focusing on positives.
My older son has a friend who is a Marine MP. He's a good kid and loves knives. I gave him one of my favorite knives, my awesome JK kephart. It was a great knife and served me very well. The look on his face was all the thanks I needed.
What are your new year thoughts and focuses?

I`m hoping to focus more on the mid size and small knives, one of the reasons I discontinued the Hudson Bay and Lobo. As for living frugaly, we went from 3 vehicles to 1. We only go out to dinner once a month, if at all. Connie is going to be starting her own little part time business, and continue to keep working at Target for the insurance. I plan on continuing to sell my personal knife collection, keeping only my Bucks, scout knives, and a few that have special meaning.

How are you guys selling off your knives? I'd really like to thin my collection as well.

Hi Rockywolf -

I plan on spending more time with my granddaughters and my nieces.

They grow up so fast, I want to be part of their lives while I still can.

On the knife front, I will likely continue my dabbling in new things, but I have made myself a promise that I will sell the knives I don't use or have grown tired of before I add new knives to my collection. Yea right.

Maggie and I have been able to crawl out of debt - slowly. I paid off my truck yesterday, and now all we have in terms of debt is the house and Maggies car, and a new TV we bought for Christmas.

I would love it if Maggie could quit working or go to part-time so we could spend more time together.

As I grow older, I see that family is what is important. It sounds cliché, but it is very true.

I sincerely wish that 2011 will be a great year for all my friends here at BF.

best regards -

I sold all my Schrades (except 1) some Victorinox, 2 Busse, and a Becker on the exchange here on BF. I still need to go through the rest to price them.

One more thing, the only reason to sell your knives is to get money to buy more JK`s! :D Reading this thread makes me pretty sure I`m losing more customers!

Naaa one of the 2 I have coming is from you!

I sell mine here also. And John, did the pics of my ewok help?

The pictures will help. I just have to hope that March will start filling up so I can post an April Special.

This Is a good thread and Im sorry I missed it first time around. Im with you rockywolf. things in my life have drastically changed in the last year or so. I have less than half the knives I did a year ago. There were some factors as well, a 4 year old and 18 month old twins are part of it, buying and trying to be successful at a business is part of it. And not to get too corny but I look around sometimes at what I have and It almost makes me sick. As a kid I didint have 1/4 of what my kids have, and thats not a bad thing as I want to do good for them, but I just dont need tons and tons of knives. Now this is where I get a bit confused. I have collected schrades for some years and have sold off the stuff I really wasnt in love with, but for users and stuff I really didint need I just had to move it out. As dumb as it may sound I dont want to have to choose from 15 or 20 different knives to go to work or out into the woods. So now my collection is much smaller my users are much less and I try to pick what I really love to keep and use. But on a lighter note I have sold many but the majority I have given to people who would never go buy a knife like the one I have given them. Sorry to ramble on. just had to get that off my chest. In all honesty my smaller collection seems to do me a little better than a large one where I sometimes lost track of what all I had:D
