I'd like to be the first to wish everyone at Bladeforums and especially Trads forums Happy New Year. My New Years resolution is to carry a carbon steel blade every day through 2010. Tonight at midnight I will have either a Case soddie cv , Schrade 12OT, Case amber bone Texas jack, Case yeller stockman or maybe even a Douk douk in my pocket. They are all out on the table at the moment getting some love from my new Arkansas benchstone. We'll see. Best wishes to all and thanks for the great year here at the Traditionals forum.

And the English translation...

Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and never brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot,
and old lang syne ?

CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

We two have run about the slopes,
and picked the daisies fine ;
But we've wandered many a weary foot,
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS

We two have paddled in the stream,
from morning sun till dine† ;
But seas between us broad have roared
since auld lang syne.

CHORUS

And surely you'll buy your pint cup !
and surely I'll buy mine !
And we'll take a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

And there's a hand my trusty friend !
And give us a hand o' thine !
And we'll take a right good-will draught,
for auld lang syne.

CHORUS

What a great version of that song. Nearly brought a tear to my eye. Heard a local band play an eerily similar version in a pub in Nova Scotia years ago.

Happy New Years. Warmest New Years wishes for everyone in here.

Yabbos, is there really 23hrs of night in the arctic?

God Bless

I grew up about halfway between the 49th parallel and the arctic so I don't know first hand. The only time I was in the arctic was early May. From what I hear the opposite is true, 23 hours of light in the summer.;)

An hour and 10 minutes left over here :D

Very best wishes and the best of luck in 2010 to all of you :thumbup:
