OK gentlemen lets hear your New Years resolutions concerning knives.Because I'm left-handed my resolution is not to buy any knife that isn't left-handed or totally ambidextrious, thank God for axis, arc and Matt-locks or I'd be screwed.

Funny you should say that. I'm left handed and am so sick of all the cool knives out there that are made for right handed folk. However, my New Year resolution is to carry all my knives right handed. I want to train (force) myself to do it all the time. I noticed that at the dinner table I always hold the knife in my right hand. I realized that the other day and figured I can carry my pocket knives that way too. :)

Strange you should ask.

On New Years Day I proudly proclaimed to The Wife, "This is the Year of the Knife!" Meaning, of course, that I was finally going to get some of the items on my "wants" list.

She countered with, "You mean, the year you're going to enjoy the ones you have, instead of buying new ones?"

Grrr... :p

Buy knives that will be carried/used, not placed in a case and never touched. Also to purchase a few customs from a friend who is starting out (got my pakal knife on order as we speak).

I think I married her sister ;)

I hate researching this seemingly great knife only to see the clip-side neutered of a thumbstud. It's bad enough there's practically no lefty liner lock out there. We need a little more Southpaw Comfort.

Bravesfan, if I had to use all the knives I'm planning on buying, I'd need four arms and I'd sound like a Knight of the Round Table. I don't fall into the steel-snob crowd, but I can relate to the "but I want it" people.

my resolution is to by 1 or 2 custom knives this year insted of 5-10 production models - i want a emerson CQC6, and a terzuola ATCK (something like that) and a strider AR/GB (one or the other) i have enough EDC knives i want some customs now!!

Mine are:

1) To finish more than one knife this year. It seems I make only 1 a year! I have to kick it up a notch or 2.

2) To appreciate hand sanding. Yes, mo OWN hand sanding! THis is not fun stuff to do! Oops! I mean, this is fun stuff to do...

3) to be more informative here on Bladeforums.

Cray.
Hand sanding Blows :p Bead BLast forever:D

Like Paul, I would like to avoid impulse buys,. Atleast until after Blade Show.

And I would like to make twice as many knives as Crayola this year.
;)

Mine is less radical. I just want to stretch my impluse buying knee-jerk from "I must have today" to "I will sit on this impulse for a week. Hopefully another impulse lust will hit me and will cancel out the first impulse.":o

Mine is to only get stuff that will be used... I already sinned by orderinf a SOG Bowie. It won't leave the house.

I expect two knives to arrive soon -among these the Bowie- and will, by then, have a knife in every category I "need". I hope my diminishing bank-account will force me to slow it down a bit... :D
