It's on it's way from a very popular dealer, the CF/S90V version.

This and the P'Kal were the only knives I was looking for when I started looking last month, as I have a huge collection of Cold Steel products that I thought would fill my needs just fine.

A month later, in hand I have the P'Kal, a nice PM2 in all black S30v, and a beautiful Chaparral in CTS-XHP (my introduction into the Taichung beauties). Then a sweet Gayle Bradley found its way here, and just yesterday a Manix LW S110V.

Where does it end?

I'm thinking the Yo2 might be kept as a pocket queen, as is the P'Kal, as a defensive knife first and foremost.

I want to cut stuff with the Yo, though.....just seems like an awesome bit of steel.

I have no need for a defensive knife, but the design of the YO2 is very flexible. The KW exclusive is my favorite daily user, bar none. It functions fantastically in that mode. I hope you like yours as much as I like mine. :)

I picked up a factory 2nd on the exchange, I think you'll like the Yojimbo a lot.

I have 3 Yojimbo 2s, one of which is the S90V model. It is a truly exceptional knife and the design lends itself very well to all sorts of daily tasks. Enjoy!

Yep, I've got 2 Yojimbos, both of which are close favorites.
1 in CF/S90V, and another in G10/S30V with a deep carry clip that sees regular use atleast 3-4 days a week.

Never had an instance where I've needed a blade in self defense, which may have been a primary intention of the design here, but I love wharncliffs for a lot of my daily tasks. And the control and feel of this folder are nothing less than a prime example of the typical incredible Spydergonomics we've all come to enjoy!

Great choice man!

I have the same knife and it is easily my favorite folder, with my PM2 being a close second. In terms of EDC, it is very capable of cutting as long as you are not pushing it straight down on a cutting board in which the PM2 would be a better alternative. Despite its fat profile, it actually carry better in the pocket than my PM2 because of the narrow profile where the clip is mounted for tip up.

The S90V is a bit harder to sharpen than say S30V but you can get it stupid sharp with some patience. I spent about an hour stropping mine and it will slice through paper like nobody's business.

Mine came a little bit tight but you can easily smoothen it up with a few drops of oil on the axis and a little tweak on the pivot screw.

Most importantly it has a huge cool factor and a very unique look to it. I typically describe it to my knife buddies as my "glorified prison shank" or my "baby meat cleaver".

I'm partial to "box cutter on steroids"!

A little off topic but I noticed that my factory 2nd has a bit of a downward curve at the tip. I like it, this thing cuts through cardboard like it's not there.

so I originally thought the Yojimbo 2 was one of the uglier Spydercos I've ever seen, but after seeing more and more photos of it (particularly on this thread) I find myself really warming up to it. I saw that it is marketed as primarily a personal defense knife; my question is, if I were to get one and use it as an EDC knife (box cutting, food prep, making feathersticks), how would it do? I've never used a wharncliffe style blade before so I just don't know anything about that geometry.

It works great as an edc knife and for 95% of the cutting tasks you will probably use it for it will serve you quite well. As I said in my post earlier, the only task it will not do as well would be pushing the blade down on a flat surface like a cutting board because you will only be in contact with the very tip of the blade. As far as cutting boxes, rope, quadriceps, etc it will slice and dice like theres no tomorrow.

The yojimbo 2 cf s90v may be the perfect edc. It was designed by a world class knife fighter so it's ability to be used for self defense is a no brainier if that is your interest. It uses one of the best steels. It sharpens to a razor sharp edge. And it's blade shape cuts nearly anything you would need to. It's relatively small, carries well and is non intimidating. But it sure cuts deep and nasty. Everyone should try one, it's that good.

Just wait until you see (and feel!) just how beautiful a Yojimbo 2 looks in your hand!
If you ever get the opportunity to hold or operate one in person I almost guarantee you'll add one to the must haves list.
Yeah this one turned into one of my favorite EDC's and it is used often. I primarily use my G10/S30V version and it is holding up great.
Even though the blade is not full flat grind and rather thick, it still slices excellent.

Here's a quick pic:

...not to distract from the thread, but the Dodo shown there is another one of those that many truly hate the look of until they get one in their hands! And also coincidentally a self defense folder that still works great for many daily tasks.

Well after using this knife for a week I will say that it is one of the most efficient cutters I've had. It's like a xl box cutter or utility knife. I'm actually thinking of picking up another one to compliment my 2nd.

Just picked up a user S30V model. Can't wait to get my grubby mitts on it!

Excellent pics, everyone!

I like my KW exclusive enough that I have thought about getting the S30V model (fond of that steel) and a custom set of scales.

I'm so close to picking up a third Yojimbo 2 after seeing KW got more in stock and have them at a VERY fair price...
